Broken Bolt Extractors Incognito
1 of 1 found this helpful I have used these drills a couple times and they perform exactly as they should. I have a set of Left Hand Flute drills in my professional toolbox at a car repair facility that I purchased from Snap-On. There are only 4 in the whole set and they cost $90. I use Left Hand drills to drill a hole in a bolt that has broken off to accommodate an easy-out (broken thread extractor) and most of the time the broken bolt is backed out of the hole befor I even hardly get started drilling it out to the desired size, making the job faster and way more efficient.
These drills are an incredible deal considering how many come in the set (15). They are as sharp as razer blades and to date I haven't broken one off. It has been my experience that less expensive drill bits are brittle and break off when they "stick", so I am very leary of that idea when I use them. If you are a novice be extra careful when drilling, don't try to dril too fast, especially if opening an existing hole that is only slightly smaller than the size you are drilling with. The price more than compensates for it anyway you look at it.
I'd recommend them to anyone due to the incredible value.

A High Quality Addition To Any Muffler Mechanic's Tools and Equipage
I've used this product 1,000's of times while working at a very busy Muffler shop over a period of more than 20yrs. It is a very viable solution to certain situations where a "little help" may be needed to secure a positive sealing joint. It can seal a connection between Exhaust Manifold and Head Pipe, or between two pipes where there is a difference between sizes that a muffler clamp won't quite seal the exhaust gasses. It can be heated with a torch to cure it very quickly if needed, but will also "set up" in a few hours at room temperature. It is not affected by heat at all. I recommend it to anyone who wants to make certain of a good solid exhaust seal between two mating surfaces. (steel or cast iron, I never used it on Aluminum)
