Great grips for flat-bar touring!
These are great grips. Super comfy with a lot of wrist/palm support. I got the mediums based on the SQLabs website sizing chart. I think they are a perfect fit when I wear medium weight gloves; barehanded they are a bit large due to my short fingers.
I do think these are best for flat-bars with > 9 deg backsweep. Probably 12 to 25 degrees backsweep would be optimal. They also have a little barend overlap -- they end in a chunk of material rather than go through the grip. So you may have to shorten your bars a bit. I usually like about 720 mm, but needed to cut my bars down to 710 mm for my usual riding style.

Beefy wheels for touring.
1 of 1 found this helpful Compared to the stock wheels on my 2009 Trek 7.3fx, these are some beefy legs! Heavier, but much more robust. These Chukkers are perfect for converting my old bike from a "fitness"/commuter/hybrid into a touring bike.

First leather saddle! Getting comfortable after a week!
This is my first leather saddle. I am a 5'7'' male, with fairly wide sit bones, and travel over rough roads about 300 miles per month, so I decided to try the "short" Flyer. The first three days were pretty rough ... the saddle was new and hard. The springs only give you a little cushion; and if you are lightweight, probably not much at all. I am about 220 lbs and find that the springs are great at smoothing out the really rough spots on the road.
By the end of the first week, there was just enough break-in to afford some good rides. I can tell this saddle will be great after a couple hundred miles. Also, be aware you only get enough Proofide leather conditioner for the first application. During the break-in period, you'll probably need a couple more applications. So you need to buy some more. I bought the 30g little tub for about $20. That should last a very long time.
