Perfect solution for cracking black walnuts
The nutcracker arrived quickly. Works like a charm. I’ve already ruined a vice by using it to crack walnuts. This nutcracker the job easier and faster than ruining another vice!
Some observations:
1) not important to me, but some folks ask, it’s made in China.
2) it’s made of very heavy cast aluminum. But I don’t see any wear and tear yet.
3) No instructions included. But it’s easy to figure out.
4) a slip of paper says to keep it lubricated. But lube what and where? I spread heavy gear grease across the top gear teeth. I also disassembled the 3 bolts holding it together and coated them with gear grease.
5) the nuts are cracked between two bolts with indentations to hold the nuts. A second pair of bolts is included with the nutcracker.
