Life is not lived as a solitary walk
1 of 1 found this helpful Since it's release on VHS in the early 90's, this movie has remained at the front of my mind in the short list of the best movies I have ever seen. The story, casting and life messages are seldom to be matched in other movies. The historical background is very informative and the message of hope and love is extraordinary. The main character faces trials that are daunting, but because of the presence of some loving adults in his life and his desire for justice he affects the lives of so many. Don't miss the opportunity to see this movie.

Because of Winn Dixie - Great Family Movie
The movie was well done, and as with most movies did not follow the book real closely. The messages of friendship and showing care were strong and the acting was good as well. This is a very clean movie with strong messages about a number of moral issues.

The movie does justice to the book
2 of 2 found this helpful Seldom does a movie measure up to the book that it is derived from, but this release of Bridge to Terabithia was a real winner. I am a reading teacher, and very fond of the book and a great fan of the author. Katherine Patterson and her son were involved in the production of the movie and that is obvious in the outcome. The book touches on so many topics from the obvious - death of a child, to belief in God, dealing with the stresses of childhood, the beauty of imagination, family support, overcoming and forgiveness. The movie does a good job creating the imaginary world of Terabithia. The book leaves most of the creation of the imaginary world to the mind of the reader, but the movie does an amazing job putting pictures to imagination. Hutcherson and Robb are well cast and talented young people. This movie gives glory to a classic book.
