Nice quality, good price.
Nice that this is printed on both sides. Accurate color reproduction. Fabric is thicker than many of the others I have found.

Common newer approach to pain management
This book was recommended by my pain management doctor. These are some pretty theories, exercises, and helpful techniques. It is a good place to start your journey to pain control. But don't stop here. Pain management is evolving rapidly and some aspects of this book are falling behind.
If you are not good at being honest with yourself or keeping a journey and completing written exercises, this book is not for you.

Great to those new to exploring your chronic pain
1 of 1 found this helpful I came across this book while searching for a different title which had been suggested by my doctor. I was attracted to the fact that it was in workbook format. Many other programs just rely on a journal or your notes or ask a lot of questions that if you don't put them in writing where you will likely find and review them, won't do you any good.
If you are new to exploring your chronic pain, this is a great book for you. There are plenty of great exercises that will help you explore, identify, understand and express your pain a bit better. This is a great step towards learning how to take back some control back in your life.
I would still advise further and on-going research to medical websites as pain management is finally beginning to evolve after decades in infancy. The profession is just now beginning to recognize what a poor short-sighted job it had been doing in the past and that they had very little understanding of how to effectively go about it. Doctors are finally realizing that the many pain sufferers are being under medicated and increasing meds to adequately manage the pain will not turn you into a drug addict and will in most cases, decrease your limitations and increase your involvement in your own life and help get you back to a more normal place in society. Not to say that just increasing the doses is the only component in therepy or the answer for everyone. Sometimes its not. There are also many new implant devices, non-opiate based drugs, psychological and alternative medications and treatments that are very effective partners or alternatives and rapidly evolving. Unfortunately, some older or rural doctors haven't been able to let loose of their predjudices towards the pain patient based on outdated training.
This book is a good springboard to get you started on your journey to better managed pain. The journey will probably never end. Be prepared to try new paths as they become available.
