I'm in my 60's, I have been married to the same wonderful woman for 44 years, and I enjoy woodworking and cooking, but I have always had a passion for trains. I am a recent transplant to the beautiful Chattanooga, Tennessee area, after having been displaced from our California home when our town of Paradise was destroyed by the Camp Fire in 2018. We have recovered from that disaster though, and are enjoying our new home even more!

Very Nice, Attractive, Well-Made Toaster!
So far, we are quite pleased with this toaster! It toasts evenly and consistently, much less frustrating than those bargain basement toasters out there. The red accents are very attractive, and we love the retro look. If I had one complaint it's that the levers do not set evenly when not in use. The right lever sets a bit lower, and being the perfectionist that I am, I find myself bumping it up every time I notice it. However, I can live with that if I get good toast, so I would recommend this to anyone!

A Welcome Addition to my Small LP Connection!
My LP collection was destroyed by a California wildfire in 2018, so I kinda gave up on owning records anymore. Then for Christmas my daughter gave me a copy of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, which brought bake so many amazing memories. Shortly after the New Year I went searching for two of my other favorite Elton John albums, buying both "Captain Fantastic" and "Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only the Piano Player". This wasn't enough, so I then found THIS treasure, "Honky Chateau", and also "Tumbleweed Connection", rounding out my Top 5 EJ albums (sorry, diehard fans, Madman ranks somewhere around #10). I then bought a lovely gramophone-style LP player for the living room, and Honky Chateau was the first of these albums I played. Outstanding! I had forgotten how nice vinyl sounded! I have a feeling I will be slowly rebuilding my collection from now on, all thanks to my darling daughter!

Every Piece is a Focal Point in my Layout!
The Downtown Deco product line is AMAZING, I only wish there were as many choices on the O-scale side as in the HO line.
I admittedly have not yet built this kit yet (or the other three I purchased at the same time), but I did complete my first kit, and I can report that it was easy to assemble and very easy to customize. I started with their strip club kit called "the Booby Hatch", but I was able to rename it after a club in California and give it some different artwork. I was also able to mount an appropriate electronic sign above the front (from Miller Engineering) with a rooftop staircase behind it for support, but that's not the best part.
What really makes this a focal point is that I embedded a mini disco ball inside the club, then hid a small bluetooth speaker in a shack next to the club. The disco lights shined brightly through the two side windows, but then I added the icing on the cake: I cut a rectangular hole in the roof and added a large skylight, so now the disco ball lights up the ceiling as well. With the appropriate stripper music coming from the speaker, you can imagine the rave reviews I am getting, and my layout isn't anywhere near complete!
I purchased the other 4 buildings to form a downtown section of the town I have dubbed "Brandon Flats". It will start with the strip club on the right, then to the left will be "Cooter's Liquors" followed by the tattoo parlor I will rename "Body Art by Destiny" (my granddaughter), then the Chinese Restaurant (to be renamed "Tong Fong Low" (my all-time favorite spot in CA), then finally the Trackside Tavern. I expect it will look totally stunning when complete, and I can hardly wait to show it off!
Anyway, Great Product, Superb Documentation, VERY carefully packaged and I Highly Recommend! Keep Up the Great Work, Randy!
