Enough Rope by Lawrence Block (2003)
This is a fantastic collection of creepy mystery, murder, and suspense stories. From the first few stories I was hooked... I've been a fan of Block's 'Burglar' novels for years, and there are a few short Bernie Rhodenbarr stories in here, but mostly it showcases one- shot characters in very surprising situations.
I also particularly enjoyed the stories about Martin Ehrengraff, the natty little criminal lawyer / detective who always finds the best solution to a case... this is a great character with a cache of great stories, some of them from the 60's and as creepy and clever as any murder mystery!!
Enough Rope is just a terrific read from a master of murder / mystery writing taken from across the arc of a truly impressive writing career. Block is the best at what he does, and this book showcases his myriad writing talents and his range.

TAG BUILDS REAL GEAR!
Excellent materials, design and construction. Really one of the best makers of hard-use gear on the planet. This pouch can hold two mags easily or four mags if you want as long as they don't have monster basepads. Buy 'em. They last, they work. Plus, they don't disintegrate when exposed to oxygen like some pouches I could mention...
