A fuel efficient SUV? Yep! A fuel efficient SUV.
2 of 2 found this helpful Let's get this one thing straight right off the bat: This is a Hybrid vehicle. It's main mission is to be fuel efficient. If you need some semblence of excess power underfoot to feel good about yourself and your vehicle, then stop reading and move on. This is not for you. It has enough power to accelerate up-to-speed alrighty, it's just not excess power. I don't know, why would anybody buy a hybrid, and then make an issue of its less-than-impressive ability to accelerate? In this vehicle, I get around using light to moderate acceleration up to the speed limit, nice and easy and comfortably, like I'm in my rolling livingroom. If anybody behind me gets upset that I don't gun it out of the light, up to 10 over the limit or more, that's just tough cookies for them. I just don't care in this vehicle. Catch me sometime when I decide to take my Maserati out for a spin instead, it will be different.
We got this in as-new condition, for a steal, with all of the options, except for the towing package & engine block heater. (In SC, I don't think I'll need the heater.) We got the Audiophile stereo system, Nav., leather, sunroof, ambient lighting, runningboards, I dunno - everything. The Nav. is great, and the display has a lot of pretty cool non-nav information, which I guess you just don't have if you don't have the nav. We're constantly playing with it. The stereo sounds great, and with the Sirius radio, I'm hooked. I just cruise to wherever I'm going while grooving to my favorite music, played non-stop, one favorite song after the other. It's so satisfying. Who cares about going fast like that - all relaxed, comfortable and satisfied? And when I re-fill tha tank and do the math, I'm satisfied too about the 29 mpg that I just got with the last tankfull!!! An SUV!!! I totally expect to get something over 30 mpg once we get out of the hot summer months and we can turn off the AC, but for now, it's on 100% of the time, when the gas engine is on anyway. In economy mode, you allow the system to shut off the gas engine at low speeds (under 30 mph)when it decides that it doesn't need it. When that happens, the AC compressor isn't driven anymore and so, the AC is also shut off. But in those times, it is so cool to just tool around on the electric motor! It's like a big electric golf cart! You just whirrr around, not using a single drop of gas! People look funny at you as you roll by! Of course, that's always comical. You just have to wave knowingly at them and giggle. Talk about a head turner! Then, at 30 mpg, the electric motor acts as a starter as the gas engine is somehow engaged and fires-up, and they begin to work together. There is no starter by the way. In park, you turn the key and the elestric motor spins to start the gas engine. It's kind of wierd to not hear the familiar starter sound when you turn the key. The engine just fires-up seemingly out of nothing, it just starts running.
The appearance inside and outside is nice and pleasant and sufficiently not inexpensive looking, especially since so much of it is in leather with the leather option that we have. Ours is the light or powder blue paint job with light khaki leather and a lot of chrome stuff front & rear, and the runningboards are highly regarded by us. We think that they add a lot to the looks, and for kids & elderly, they do help in the old entry / exit thing.
We've put over 2k miles on it after owning it for about 7 weeks. We like it a lot!!!

2 of 2 found this helpful I've used this phone system for a few years now. My base unit got zapped by lightning, thus my recent buy. I have the base unit and 7 cordless phones.
All settings are very competent. Each phone can control the answering machine functions. You can intercom one or all phones. That's real handy for us. They work as far as the workshop in the back, or the mailbox up front, and anwhere in between. Very clear signal. Batteries have all last and are all still working 100% as far as I know. My wife has exercised most of the phones heavily. All are still working as new. Great looking, nice feel, nice weight. All of our friends & relatives admire them. They of course don't interfere with our wireless networking, which is why they have replaced our previous 2.4 Uniden phones.
The satelite cordless phones are so easy to expand. When you buy more, you charge it, then you put it in the main base unit for a couple seconds in order for the base unit to include it as a new phone in the system. You plug-in the little charging base wherever you want it to be, and you put the phone in its little charging base. Done! It's basically fully functional. There are other optional settings to play with, but basically, that's it!
Like I already said, the signal is very clear. We live on a slightly larger than one acre, fairly rectangular lot. I can go anywhere and talk on the phone without ever losing it.
Oh yeah, you can set two or more of the phones to act as walkie talkies, to use away from home.
You can record messages for others to retrieve when they get home.
You can store numbers and assign 10 of them for speed dialing.
You can assign special ring tones for your stored numbers.
I dunno, there are other things. Basically, tis phone system rawks!!
