NEW Fluval Marina Submersible Heater for Aquarium, Mini
    Sep 09, 2017
    Fluval Submersible Mini heater 25Watt
I purchased this Fluval 25W Heater (submersible) for my 5 gallon tank that houses 2 bettas. It has a controllable thermostat, which is the main reason I chose this particular heater. I rated it a 4, due to having to keep checking my tank to ensure it is heating correctly. I have a thermometer strip on the outside of the tank so I can keep a close eye on the temperature. It seems to stay between 80-82 mostly, and that is setting the dial about mid center. I am having to lower it some during the early part of the day, and set it back to the midway setting in the evening. I really think I could have done better selecting a lower wattage for the 5 gallon. Fluval ranks pretty high in product durability, so that is another reason I chose Fluval I would buy another one. Dont think I would use it for a 2.5 gallon. However, tanks that are 5 gallon and above should be fine. A 10W is better for 2.5 gallon, and the heater is usually set on a 77-78 degree permanent setting, so that eliminates the worry.
    Marineland Visi-Therm Submersible Aquarium Heater 50-Watt 12 Gallons ML90638

    Marineland 50W Visi-Therm Aquarium Heater-Great for Bettas!
We bought this 50 Watt Visi Therm for a 2.5 Gallon Tank for our Betta Friend. This is an excellent heater, as we have 2 others as well. These work great for the 2.5 Gallon. However, when turning it on, I usually set it about 79 Degrees, but the tank usually will read about 80-82 degrees on the glass themometer. Since winter time is coming on, the preset Topfin Betta heater will only keep water temperature at about 77 degree average. My other 3 Bettas seem to really like the water much warmer (only by a few degrees), so now we have 4 Visi Therm heaters. I recommend for the serious Betta owner who needs to know their little friend has nice luke warm water to play in!
