Needs more about female success stories
1 of 4 found this helpful A very interesting and debatable topic! I personally would feel defeated if I thought the only way to achieve success was through luck and your birthday! Hard work along with natural ability should be most important which is why people should be encouraged to follow their instincts after being introduced to all possibilities. If one path doesn't work out, people should be encouraged to try another until they find where they belong. Life is not always easy.............

An epic read!
This was our book club's pick for January and I believe it was one of the best. Very different and compelling! It was difficult to read about the horrible physical conditions of leprosy yet wonderful to learn about the happiness many of the patients were able to achieve even while in exile. The caregivers were saints in my opinion. So much loss in life was both heartbreaking and uplifting since reading about perseverance while facing such devastation was what made the book difficult to put down. A highly recommended read!

Especially good winter holiday reading
Definitely light reading and similar threads as a few other books I've read over the years. The main character seems silly and flighty in the beginning of the book but develops character as you read further. Although I do not particularly enjoy cooking, the food references and recipes were actually interesting and I will retain this book and hope to try some of the recipes that are included. The relationships with friends and family make for enjoyable reading.
