Ed Bernds had a knack for being in the right place at the right time. And he took notes.
What a tome to be working in Hollywood. Being a soundman at the beginning of sound in the movies. Plenty of good stories here, including crossing the USA in a Model-T Ford.
Ed Bernds saw it all and kept notes. Being a technician myself, Bernds story were very relatable and interesting to me. The technology has changed over the past 90 years, but the people and the stories haven't.
This is a fun look into 1920s-30s Hollywood. Even more fun if you're a tech.
