How to Live in Hue Tops
I literally LIVE in these Hue tops. Day and night. Long sleeves, short sleeves. So many beautiful colors. As a T-shirt during the day, as a night shirt for sleep. Comfy, delicious fabric. Washes up nicely. The only sad thing is that they apparently have stopped manufacturing this specific V-neck design. C'mon, Hue. We want the flattering V-neck.

Super Good Travel Bag
Super good travel bag. Safe worn across the torso. Light, but with many useful and efficient pockets and plenty of room for cards and ID. Wore one to France last summer. It was secure and I felt confident even knowing that pick pockets and thieves were expected. Wouldn't travel without one.

St Vincent's--Dad's "Home Away From Home"
This book was particularly compelling to me as my father was an 'orphan' resident of St. V's from the mid-1920's until he finished high school there. I had heard many stories about his years at the orphanage and had the good fortune to visit St. V's a number of years ago to see where my father had been raised. It was much more beautiful than I had any reason to imagine.
Only the last couple of chapters really applied to my father's life at St. V's, but it was good to know that he arrived during what I would call the 'golden years' after so much rebuilding was done. Although it was a tough environment for a young boy of 4 years to enter after his parents' deaths, it was good to know that those in charge of 'reinventing' St. V's wanted those boys to be surrounded by beautiful things--that they deserved more than to be warehoused in impoverished and inadequate lodgings.
A visit to St. V's even today is a reflection of that higher vision that no doubt that influenced my father. He always took great pride in his appearance and he loved to sing and develop beautiful gardens second to none in my childhood neighborhood--all pieces of St. V's that he celebrated rather than rejected.
