Installation of Combination lock for TKL Gibson guitar case
I used a die grinder to cut the heads off rivets of old broken combo lock on my case. Used a screwdriver and putty knife gently open up the upholstery inside behind the lock. Remove remaining part of old rivets. If you chip the wood in the case repair with Crazy glue. DO NOT use crazy glue on the upholstery. Install the lock with split rivets provided. I clenched the top one with channel locks but had to hold a hammer inside and tap the lower ones. Your mileage may vary. I glued the upholstery back together and there was 2 layers so I got it all. Use white glue in the event this repair is made again in the future, you want to be able to get back in with no damage. Enjoy the job you did!
