Great improvement over the Express+ unit.
I replaced a Roku Express+ device with the Ultra because the WiFi reception was weak. I wanted to run ethernet to my router, which was almost directly overhead since they were both on the same entertainment center. Even though the den has great WiFi, the smaller unit could not get a decent signal because of where I had to place the router. The Express+ rarely got 20mbps and even running on WiFi the Ultra was getting over 70mbps in the same location as the Express+. I no longer have issues with buffering and dropped/weak signals. Probably the main reason for the better WiFi signal is that the Ultra can operate on the 5ghz band rather than the 2.4 and it's much faster.

Old model, but still serviceable.
Bought this to replace a similar model that had quit working. This one had a few scratches, but works perfectly.

Works great and easy setup.
When I first bought the Motorola MB8600, I was supposed to be getting 400mbps download from my provider (Xfinity) and I was consistently getting around 480mbps. When I upgraded to gigabit service (1,000mbps), I couldn't get above 600mbps consistently. Usually, my download speed was right around 570mbps. I had their tech out and he could not get it to improve. I spoke with Motorola's tech support and he recommended setting it back to factory specs since it was a used router, but he thinks the provider is just not providing the speeds they offer. I'm inclined to agree with him. I believe the router could handle the speed, but it's not being provided. Anyway, the router works great and you can log into it (192.168.100.1 - admin - motorola) if you want to check to see how it's performing.
