Good scale, that could have been built better.
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought the Proform 67644 scale a couple of days ago. Here are my thoughts about this product.
On the positive side:
+ one of the most inexpensive corner weight scales I could find on the market
+ ease of use (wireless)
+ complete package (comes with batteries, storage case, USB cable)
+ weighing results seem accurate and are reproducable
On the negative side
- Power switches on the individual scale pads are super flimsy
- Overall quality
To elaborate a bit on the quality point, one of the scale pads was missing one of its rubber foot when it arrived. Luckily I found the rubber foot lying in the storage box, so I was able to glue it back on.
On another scale pad the light that indicate its power state isn't working. Initially I thought the whole pad is broken, since this light is the only indication on the pad, that it is powered on. Later I realized that the display unit is receiving a signal from the pad despite the broken light, lucky me :)
The buttons on the display unit are a bit imprecise as well. To toggle through the screens you have to press and hold 'FN', then press 'Tare'. Pressing 'Tare' alone will reset the scale. If you don't press 'FN' firmly enough and wait a second before you press 'Tare', you will accidently zero out the scale. So you will have to remove the car, reset the scale and start over again (I made some experience with this already...more than once).
The latches on the storage box appear very cheap and don't look like they will survive for very long.
If the scale lasts, I'll be happy with this purchase. My biggest concern is with the power switches on the scale pads. I have to be very careful operating those. That is a bit sad since I believe it wouldn't cost that much more, to put proper switches in place.
On a side note, ensure to use a proper procedure when weighing a car, especially when you use a hoist or jack. Depending on suspension type you'll need to role the car back and forth a couple of times until the suspension settles properly. Else the weigh readings may be significantly off. This however is not specific to the Proform but true for all type of scales.
