Neat little unit.
Bought this to know sub compact tractor speed when spraying herbicides. Worked great. Also handy for tracking distance and time when driving. I need to do this for my job, self employed grain, stone and lime hauler. Just plug it in a bit before driving and when you stop it flashes distance and time. Unplug it and back in for a restart to do again. I believe it reads a bit faster then actual speed, 1 to 2 mph at 55 mph.

Helps start fires.
Occasionally during outside mid temp weather or low barometric pressure, my add on furnace would be slow to start or hard to get heat out of. Occasionally it would also smoke out of the door when checking fire or adding wood. On the furnace jacket I mounted and wired a switched outlet to plug this into, easily reachable from front of furnace. When the chimney draft meter shows low draft, 2 or lower, I switch it on with the variable speed left at half way up on the dial. Seldom do I leave it run all the time but I can get a fire going, turn it off and walk away often in half the normal time it used to take. The motor does get hot running at any speed, not from flue heat. It also leaked smoke at the curved housing joint that was hard to see without a flashlight. I sealed it with black high temp silicone gasket sealant, that is hard to see after applying. It does seem a bit loud but the sound is covered over when furnace blower comes on. The smoking and warm, hot motor kept me from giving it 5 stars.
