RainBird ARC8 Not Flexible
The software runs every zone in sequence at each programmed start time. That is not nearly as flexible as my old RainBird controller that let me schedule a start time/day and duration for each zone individually. The user manual doesn't explain the operaton of the controller clearly, especially how to switch from one of the stored programs to another. So it is basically trial-and-error. To me, the only benefit of this controller is to be able to manage it remotely by a smartphone, so that if our municipality changes the permissible sprinkling hours while we are away from home, the system can be adjusted to comply with the new regulations from anywhare in the world (that has Internet access). I might be tempted to reinstall the old controller for general use, and install the ARC8 for the times we are away from home. That's a hassle!
