Works perfect for older MB
I've been using a couple of these adapters when building computers based on the X58 platform. Unfortunately the X58 motherboards only have USB 3.0 internally and all new cases support USB 3.0 externally. This is when this adapter shines and gets USB 2.0 working at least.

Great upgrade on X58 motherboards
Great replacement for CPU:s like the i7-920. Two more cores and a lot cooler. Overclocks reasonably well depending on your motherboard. Make sure to update the BIOS first before installing CPU.
