Solid performer
2 of 2 found this helpful Solid construction, solid performance. You do need to know what you’re doing with comm gear like this - it’s specialized and definitely not for the average user. You need to have a good idea how you’ll use it, how you want to set it up, and you’ll need to communicate that all clearly to the tech you’ll have program it for you. It may take a few iterations to get everything where you want it, it’s a complicated device and not everything that looks good on paper plays out that way in hand.

Not Moto's best, but not a bad way to get on 900 MHz
The GTX900 was not one of Motorola's best products, but it's a quick, easy and inexpensive way to get on 900 MHz. I've owned a few GTX900 portables (for the price, why not?) - every one of them has had CPU noise in the receive audio because the ground connections between the circuit boards and the chassis oxidize over time - you can clean them up, squish things back together, the noise will go away for a while, and then you'll have to do it again.... but... did I mention the price and the ease with which you're now on 900 MHz??

Just what I needed
I bought the bracket for use with a GTX900. When the bracket arrived, all the parts were there, everything looked great, I went to slap this on the radio and.... waaait a minute. It just didn't look or feel right and I began to have my doubts - the side flanges weren't flush with the radio and the detents left the radio at a funny angle. What did I get?? I did a search on the actual Motorola part number, and the photos of their bracket matched this one perfectly, right down to those detents... Came to discover that the cross-piece on the mount was ever-so-slightly out of true. Spent about 20 minutes carefully adjusting by hand and got it all perfect. I'm happy, would definitely order from them again.
