Almost Doesn't Count

The synopsis interested me. The premise of the book, long-standing issues of abandonment, self-hatred, helplessness, and insecurity and the effect these challenges may bring to adulthood kind of touched home. These subjects could have been presented with less S/M emphasis and still achieve the goal of depicting how one dealt with the hurt and degradation that led to the disintegration of this family. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend it.
