OK radio, just ok
On a lark, I bought this because it was cheap but had some surprisingly thumbs up reviews from users. But, contrary to those reviews, it's a frustratingly poor radio to tune stations. There is cross talk from neighboring stations on AM and it requires finesse to tune in precisely. It requires a sensitive touch and correct positioning to succeed. The FM is equally difficult and it is hard to zone in on a station without some crackling or sibilance distortion. So, I thing the reviews are suspect. On the other hand, the price was $4.69 And the radio was delivered within a week, and from China no less.

Tecsun PL-380, all it's cracked up to be
2 of 2 found this helpful I'd been looking for an inexpensive radio with some short wave capability for night-stand listening. This little gem filled the bill. I read many reviews of it on various websites and all seemed praiseworthy of the radio.
Some even likened it to the quality seen in considerably more expensive radios.
I wasn't disappointed. It's very nice. Easy to operate, solidly built, and loaded with features I'm still finding out about with a decent manual included.
It's easy to setup. Easy to tune. And rechargeable batteries give you about a week of listening, left on 24 hours a day. And it has a built-in charger!
It comes with a modest carrying case and an extra antenna for SW and a surprisingly decent sounding set of stereo headphones. Very impressive there since that's always a letdown.
And more importantly, the price of under $45 is astounding.
Also, I have to praise the company from Hong Kong who got it to me within 10 days when it was estimated to arrive in about a month.
I highly recommend this radio if you're looking for a good radio with lots of features at a great price.
I might buy a second one.

Just ok
Ok because it works. The two miniscule screws were extremely difficult to position and then to tighten. Just a poor design choice. All that can be said is it's closed and connected now with a hard drive. Who knows what happens when I have to reassemble the device in the future.
