Great time saver for layout and general carpentry
I've had a small Johnson 90° laser for awhile, useful and simple, and a big rotating Spectra for dirt and excavation work. Needed to go a couple steps higher for general building and carpentry. After a good deal of research, this unit filled the bill. It's tough and accurate, nice to have a pulse mode for receiver use. It saves a lot of time doing wall layout, electrics and trim/cabinets, plus a host of other general daily alignment/plumb jobs. I still pack a plumb bob, chalk line and bubble level, this doesn't take their place but saves considerable time on certain aspects of daily work. Being able to lock the line for doing stairs, angled ceilings and etc. is a real nice feature. As is the ability to choose the number of lines you want showing. If you are looking for a jobsite capable laser with an IP 54 rating, I would recommend you add this Bosch to your list of models to look at.

Nice laser package
I have a small side business doing backhoe work, some landscaping, retaining walls, etc. Needed a laser for grading and trenching, setting wall heights, etc. This fills the bill very well, is of good quality, and the carrying case is a real plus for protection running from job to job. This laser is capable of transmitting a pitch, but only if you purchase the RC601 remote. The Topcon lasers have a control on the transmitting unit itself, which the Spectra does not. I can kinda see why Spectra did it this way, but would have been nice to have controls on the unit in case the remote experienced problems out in the field. Overall, a very quality unit, solid and simple to use. I also use Spectra's CR600 magnetic receiver for my backhoe boom, and it is one of the biggest time savers there is in the digging business.
