Series is funny, playback is horizontally stretched.
The series itself is a stitch to watch. The display, not so much. It was recorded in a "full screen" format, but it renders on a wide screen with a horizontal stretch. Yes, I can (and do) override that, but I have to return to "let the source specify the aspect" mode afterward, or my wide screen stuff gets squeezed into the full screen aspect ratio. DVDs have a setting that tells the player how it should be rendered. They didn't use that.

Super sharp but poorly made
3 of 24 found this helpful The wide aperture gathers enough light to take photos at 1/8000 with a reasonably low ISO. I can stop the motion of bees and hummingbirds in flight and still have a clean image. It's great. The VR is excellent, too. The photo below was hand held at 1/13 second at the full 200mm extension.
It is a 5 star lens, but I still have a complaint. The foot of the tripod mount is not arca-swiss compatible. It is 2mm too narrow and almost, but not quite, the right shape for it. For essentially no cost, Nikon could have made it compatible and eliminated the need for arca-swiss clamp tripod owners to need a quick release plate. It would have attached directly. :(
One year later, I have a complaint. The lens is now 53 weeks old, so 7 days out of warranty. It won't talk to my camera anymore. Nikon thinks I should pay them $500 to make it work again. I think a product that ought to last a decade or more ought to have a better warranty. This should not have failed this soon.
