Vocals ruin it

Dream Theater is one of my top-5 favorite bands, and this show has a complete performance of Scenes from a Memory so I was pretty excited. But James LaBrie's vocals ruined it for me. I can't even enjoy it. He's obviously tired of singing these songs. He whispers where he used to belt... he uses copious 'delayed attack' where it was never used before... monotone singing where it used to be melodic. He's never been a great singer, but this is awful. I feel bad for the rest of the band, because they slayed it. Jordan missed a few of the iconic licks from his studio performance because his style and gear has changed so much, but for the most part did a good job. The other 3 are spot on. The songs from Distance Over Time are better (from James) but he still over-stylizes his own stuff. I bought this because I wanted a good memoir since I attended a show from this tour, but... meh.

We plan to use this for venison, primarily. We upgraded from a kitchen mixer attachment to this unit, and it's saved countless hours of trimming to remove tendons. The kitchen mixer required raw meat to be perfectly trimmed or it would get bogged down and we were worried the motor would burn out. We've only used this once so far, but it neatly ground 7 pounds of untrimmed venison faster than we could load it. Very well built, sturdy, and easy to clean. Buy it!
