Benriner Mandoline Slicer, with 4 Japanese Stainless Steel Blades, BPA Free,

Better than ever!

The new generation of Benriner slicers are better than ever. I have been using the classic green and ivory Benriner slicers for more than 15 years, as they have always exceeded the sharpness, ease of use and quality of stainless Mandolins in professional kitchens. I purchased the new white Benriner to replace a ten year old model that has been my workhorse and it is amazing! New improvements such as a notch to keep the slicer from moving while working over a bowl or container, soft grip on the bottom to keep the slicer stable when angled on a flat surface or cutting board, large adjustment knob to better control thickness and a removable upper plate to better clean; this thing is great. Add the always sharp blades and there is no question this new model is worth the small amount more than it's predecessor.

Good braking

I installed these levers on my second single speed bike to replace top mount levers of low quality. I use them with dual pivot caliper brakes and the modulation and braking power is spot on. While the box states "designed for women," these levers have a longer pull than the Tektro levers I use on my other bike in the open position and with these levers in the compact position they are about the same pull as the Tektro levers in the open position. The ergonomic curve from the pivot to the end makes braking in the drop position very easy and the hoods are comfortable for those like myself who spend a lot of time in that hand position. Overall quality seems high and the installation was as easy as expected. These levers use the Shimano ends which may be an issue if converting from a lower quality lever and trying to reuse the original cables, but as I was replacing my cables to install drop bars from pursuit bars it was not a problem. Finally, the hood covers are labeled with the Tektro logo so replacing them should be easy if needed. Overall a great lever at a competitive price.
