Boston Acoustics VR-920 review
1 of 1 found this helpful This is one of BA's best center channel speakers along with the VR12!
However, since I own both the VR920 and VR12 I must give my thoughts.
First off, I bought the VR920 due to the fact that my kids pushed in the soft domes of the woofers and I can't pop them back out without poking a paperclip in and popping them back out. :-(
I own BA's VR3's for my fronts (Micro 130x's for my rears) and both CC speakers timbre match very well - with the 920 'just a hair' better matching across the front sound stage. I mean just a hair too. They don't really sound boxy per say.
I used all the same settings on my receiver (Onkyo sr-tx805)I mainly tested vocals and music in Mono mode on my Onkyo. (just the center outputting sound).
I noticed the VR12's mid's and highs appear alittle bit more louder (+ 1 - 2 decibels) and has a much wider sound stage than the VR920. Yes, it's in a bigger cabinet and that makes a difference. Plus the Mid on the VR12 is 1 inch bigger - I'm sure that helps too.
Now I notice that the bass on the VR-920 sounds just slightly better and has more of a punchier sound to them then the VR12's woofers. Is that due to the 2 port holes in the back and the speakers being oval? Maybe so. I'm not a professional audio engineer, these is just what I'm noticing.
I contacted BA's support to see if I can purchase replacement woofers and I'm still waiting for a response. I believe I can use the woofers from the VR2 tower in place of the older damaged woofers in the VR12. I'm actually hoping it will make the VR12 sound better too in regards to the bass. We'll see.
This is my first review and if I can reply back with the results of the new woofers - I will.
I hope this review helps some people out and sorry I couldn't type more (at work now).
Regards,
Brian

Great low powered CPU
This CPU works very well and uses less power (TDP) than the normal i5-9500 CPU.
I plan on using it either as a low powered PC for WFH, or a powerful little firewall.
