Great movie about society and culture at the turn of the century
2 of 2 found this helpful I'm sure you can find lots of reviews that are much better than mine, but I liked this movie because it shows just how society can make or break a person's reputation. The age of innocence, when a lady wasn't properly chaperoned and she was marked as unfit, was a bit over the top. Although DD Lewis never really committed adultery, or sinned against his betrothed, he wanted to. But still, he kept his integrity to his fiancee and that was commendable, in my opinion. Pheiffer was considered "unfit" and she had little friends with whom she actually felt welcomed. The ending is a bit surprising and yet, you sort of know what will eventually happen. Wharton is a great writer of her time and anyone who likes stories of this time period will definitely enjoy "The Age of Innocence". The costumes are superb as well!

Welcome to Andalasia! ... Or is it Andelusia?
Hilarious! Entertaining! Amy Adams is wonderful! It's everything a Disney movie should have - comedy, drama, cute characters, rousing musical numbers, and romance :)
