Magellan RoadMate 700 GPS - GREAT!
1 of 1 found this helpful I enjoy driving and traveling to new locations, by my sense of direction sometimes fails me, especially when traveling city streets instead of major highways. And, even if I am on the RIGHT road, I sometimes need that little assurance of seeing the street name - to be certain that my mind has not wandered away at the last intersection and a turn was missed...
But the Magellan 700 is never lost, so I am comforted every time I look at the name of the road I am on, the name and distance to my next turn, and the total distance remaining to my destination... I am a HAPPY USER!
If you want the more expensive bells and whistles (20 channels vs 12, or voice recognition vs touch screen), then pay the big bucks for the newer systems... But for an inexpensive alternative, that does all you need, get the Magellan 700!

Simple Set-up & User Friendly Instructions!
During the computer based set-up there is an on-screen gauge showing optimum distance from the primary router - EASY-PEEZY!! Walk through the set-up and decide whether an extended range of the existing WAN, or create a new WAN that flows through the existing router. Use the same or a different password - EASY-PEEZY!! Dual antennas for the maximum range!

User friendly menus and software - reasonable find for new locations, but does not have SEARCH BY ZIP option - if you don't know the correct city name, you may have multiple choice locations... But easy to find NOW location, and to save that for future trips... Easy to NAME your address locations, with alphabetical list when searching, but you cannot fix an incorrect address... Fast routing and rerouting as needed... Overall - GOOD UNIT !
