Works well for masking
I got these after seeing the small one referenced in a Terry Harrison book. He used it to mask the trunk and limbs on trees for his snow scenes. They work very well, give a good amount of control and the non-reactive material cleans up easily.

Excellent selection for a beginner watercolorist
1 of 1 found this helpful The set has a good range of colors, more than enough options as you learn how to mix and use them. I bought the set mainly because of the color range and the size of the tubes. You get a lot of paint in each tube! The tube themselves are well sealed, with a foil cover and the twist on cap has a sharp point to pierce the foil. It's been a pleasure to explore!

Great watercolor paper, great size and format
Arches is wonderful paper and the block is great for keeping the sheets flat. The 140 lb cold press has enough tooth to give some texture and the weight is heavy enough to limit buckling even when a sheet is removed. Really like the larger size, too.
