Very disappointing

The right vent came pushed in on one side, yet there was no damage to the box it came in. It had to have been damaged when it was packaged. I can't figure how to fix it. It is way too LOUD for a bedroom. It seems to have a mind of its own...sometimes it comes on for 20 seconds to maintain the set temperature other times it just keeps running and the room gets too cold. I had the temperature set for 78 degrees. I looked at it later and it read 82 degrees, yet unit was running and the room was getting COLDER. I bought a Friedrich A/C for my office 17 years ago and liked until it wore out.
