Easy to install 1992 F150 manual transmission repair kit.
I very nice collection of parts to repair a 1992 F150 5 speed transmission that has lost 1st & 2nd gear or 3rd & 4th gear. It took only a few hours to pull the cover and clean it, another hour to install the kit and another hour to install the cover. I had already purchased a Dorman 917551 kit, and used the pivot pins from this kit as they fit better than this kit provided. Search the internet for the procedure to replace the shifter forks, keep a rag over the spring loaded balls or you will lose one. I used an appropriately sized socket to hold the ball down when pushing the shifter rail into the new shifter fork.

5 of 5 found this helpful After playing with cars for half a century, I finally bought a kit that included all the parts & instructions needed. The kit was easy to install, and the car fired up & ran without any issues. The hardest part was removing the old carburetor studs.
