Well Worth the Price!!
This lanyard has saved me money by preventing the loss of my ProPointer. It is kind of like wearing a seatbelt, in that it serves a good purpose. I haven't had any issues with the lanyard not being long enough, and I am very tall. It seems to be a good quality product.

A "Good Enough Bag" for Most Situations
I spent $300 on a custom, padded carrying case for my CTX3030, but it isn't something that I can leave with a beach chair at the beach, or in my bicycle basket--it is too vulnerable to theft. This bag is more suitable for these situations--it is a nice enough bag to carry your CTX3030 in, but isn't worth a fortune. It is unlikely that someone would steal it, as it is a bit understated in its design and color.
The bag is actually much longer than the CTX3030 when the shaft is not extended--there is about 8 inches that folds over, but that is a nice problem to have. The straps are adequate, there is a large outside zippered pocket, and the long zippered access makes taking the detector in and out very easy. The case is not padded, so there isn't a lot of protection for your detector. One could add some padding if you expected some rough treatment.
Again, this isn't the perfect bag, but it is roomy enough for the CTX3030 and basically does the job. The cost won't set you back too much.

A Must Read Publication
I have read the book through once, and am starting again. The CTX3030 is packed with features and technology, and the author helps one to grasp most of the basics in this informative book. It picks up where the CTX3030 instruction manual left off, in helping the average person master the complexities of the CTX3030. I highly recommend the book, which is well worth the cost.
