Accurater and simple to use
1 of 1 found this helpful Had my doubts about its ability to evenly spread fine N scale ballast. Was very pleasantly surprised when it did just that. It lays down an even bed of ballast between the ties inside and outside of the rails. I did not use it around switch points but it does a great job on straight or curved rails. You have to do a bit of cleanup with a small brush afterwards. Keep in mind that it is better to under fill the device. If it is too full it will dump whatever is left onto the rails when you lift it up..
