Sweet, sweet cat story!
This second book in a series is just plain sweet -- not great literature, but certainly a great read if you like cats. Our neighborhood has been blessed with a doorstep cat, just like the one in this book, with the exception that our cat has picked out his best home and just visits everyone else. There is something about such a cat that brightens up a whole neighborhood, so when I found this book and its predecessor, I was sort of like a cat with cream. I gave a copy of the first book to our cat's first owner, and she loved it. That copy is getting passed around. This second book in the series is now on its way making the rounds as well. The book is a quick read, but it is so positive and cute. It could be that our neighborhood is biased due to our having own doorstep cat, but so be it. We recommend both reading the books and having the blessing of a doorstep cat.

Perfect Ending creates a clear outline of End Times
Our pastor gave an outline on Easter Sunday about what follows the Resurrection. It was great information, and I wanted something more to add depth. I found this book by Robert Jeffress, and it is absolutely what I need at this time. It begins with a compelling overview of time from the present Church Age on to the final New Heaven and New Earth. Following are chapters on each aspect including Rapture, Tribulation, Second Coming of Christ, Millennium, Great White Throne Judgement for nonbelievers, and Eternity for believers. I had studied specifics before but had never fit all the parts together clearly. Now as I read the Bible and run across mentions of End Times, it is clear to me where the particular Scripture fits the outline. This makes for exciting new revelations almost every time I open the Bible since so much of Scripture is about End Times! I decided I wanted to read Perfect Ending again and asked seven of my friends to enjoy it with me. We have set up a book study for this summer and the first meeting is coming up soon. I cannot wait to hear their takes on the book. If all pans out like I envision, I will choose a specific aspect, such as Great White Throne Judgement, and find a book that will take us even deeper in that area. The Bible is always new and exciting and it is wonderful to find a book like Perfect Ending that opens it up in a way that is so currently relevant. Robert Jeffress is a gifted writer who can keep you on the edge of your seat.

Companion book to Outlander allows a better understanding of 18th century customs
For anyone following the Outlander series on TV or reading the books, this companion is a great thing to have at hand. I first checked a copy out of the library but soon realized I really wanted to have it to refer to at any time. That meant buying my own copy. There are plenty of words or customs that are not current to our time, and the companion explains them. Just reading the books or watching the episodes is very entertaining, but I enjoy going a little deeper into the past. This book allows that.
