DeWalt XRP DC9180 18V Lithium-Ion Battery

This battery will not take a charge! I have tried many times and it will not charge. I have no idea what else that I can do with it. It came with no charge and the charger just blinks wildly when I put it on the charger. My other old one blinks very slowly and then the charger quits blinking when it is charged. Please advise. Thank you
