Fun bits...
2 of 2 found this helpful These are a great gimmick. They certainly do not replace a forstner bit, but I wanting something I could use to do angled holes through 6061 aluminum and not shred my fancy forstner bits. They, kinda, work well. Even in wood, they arent great, but for a bit that you dont feel bad abusing, they are perfect.
" KYDIAV! -AvE " lol.

Isn't a bad phone...
For a low price home (shop) phone, the value is great.
Sure it doesn't have millions of bells and whistles, but it works for my needs. And the way I go through landlines (due to sawdust) it us serving me well.

Surprised by quality!
As a daily woodworker, fasteners are the dirty side of our business lol. I had previous bought Two 10lb boxes of #8 - 1¼" screws (from Grip-Rite) that were identical to this. But it had been so long, since I bought them that the fastener industry ended up going downhill.. (I never knew a torx or even a square (Robertson) head screw could be stripped.
So after buying a few other bigger brands, I came to ebay to see if anyone had older boxes for sale (from when #8's had a T-25 torx head). I stumbled upon a deal from Lexar at 1000 screws (5lbs) for <$30 and dug out my old T-20 torx bits I never used and said "Why not. I'll give'em a shot".
I got this this morning, and immediately whipped out the impact drive, and a few hardwood scraps to test them. They were great!!!! (Better than the PowerPro brand I bought at the local Ace).
So while you might think, "it's just a screw", to me it is a matter of perfection. I make a lot of woodworking jigs, and use a lot of hardware, hardwoods, plywood, and aluminum extrusions.all of them are only as strong as their weakest link. So I use Stainless steel on my personal items, but my clients rarely want them. So a yellow zinc plated is the minimum I do (especially here in humid, salty Florida).
All in all, I'm impressed. I'm currently doing a test that would make "Project Farm" blush. I drove one screw so far, 11 times, into a flat maple without a pilot hole. It failed on the 12th (because the screw simply got too hot... I know this because I now have a threaded blister on my left finger and thumb.)
No screw would ever be put to that type of abuse. I tested my 2" number 8 stainless steel square heads the same way when I got them, and they would cam out at around 14 drives.
All in all, the screws are great. If anything bad shows up in the future, I will let you know. But for now... Lexar is my new go-to. I'll be tested many more of their items later.
(Also, the shipping was free. FedEx got here quickly, and it was packaged far better than other fasteners I've purchased online. And for <$30 (less than $0.03 per screw) I dare you to find a better fastener at a better price. I will definitely be back.
