When discussing the high E (skinniest) string there's no confusion from wrapping wire alloys or coatings. We're talking about strong flexible high tensile steel and nothing else.
D'addario makes the strongest most durable and great sounding guitar strings right here in the US of A.
And ya can't beat that with a stick. It's always my favorite.
