I’m a critter lover who loves to make “yesteryear” old style quilts, particularly using cat & dog fabrics. I can’t even guess at how many I have sewn in the last 60 years. “Lots” is as close as I can get! I love seeing the work of other quilters & sewists of anything at all. Like any old lady addicted to a sewing machine, I collect copious amounts of fabric, especially old fashioned 1930’s/40’s/50’s prints and any Japanese fabric whatsoever because designs are always simply gorgeous!

DAE JANG GEUM - It just gets better in Vol 2
This volume continues the saga of our intrepid heroine, Jang Geum. If you have volume 1, you MUST have/get vol 2 - the story deepens, the characters should have become/ARE your old friends by now. Or your sworn enemies. We love some to bits, and loathe several others. Quite simply, you should be deeply addicted to this drama by now. The production values remain fabulous, the outdoor & location shoots are simply dazzling. We are utterly heartbroken by certain events in this volume, yet remain inspired by our plucky heroine's determined, & DIGNIFIED efforts to overcome them. The ONLY bad thing for me, about this volume, is that, halfway thru it, you realize the series is half over, & that you have fewer episodes in front of you than behind!!! You are'nt human if you don't cry in this one. You will also laugh & cheer. This is a special series, the best of the genre. Don't miss it. You won't regret it - it is a series you will watch more than once - likely with your friends & family, since you will need to rant about the evil Lady Choi & her dastardly brother...and that rotten neice....oooh they are wicked.

Omnigrip is GREAT
Love my Omnigrip templates, have in near.y all sizes and shapes. They're a must have for prodigious quilters. Time savers, best quality! Easy to see markings, versatile in their function. Sturdier than most other brands, never cracked one, ever. Can't do production quilting without them.

HALLYU for YOU
2 of 2 found this helpful This series introduced me to the Korean Wave aka 'Hallyu' in 2003. It remains in my top 5 favorite tv series of all time. The production values are fantastic and the cast is downright wonderful, showcasing generations of some of South Korea's most venerable thespians. Bette Davis got nothin on Lady Choi - wow - what a villianess. The child actress who plays young Jang Geum is simply divine, & holds her own with Lee Young-Ae, the grown up Jang Geum. ALL of the characters are so well written & are perfectly cast. The outdoor shoots are gorgeous, and showcase some of Korea's lovliest locales. This series has such an epic quality, has elements of grand guignol, as well as comic farce. It is just so different from what we Westerners are used to. It is simply great entertainment.
The costumes are beauiful, authentic down to the smallest detail. Dae Jang Geum is a sumptuous feast. You can also learn alot about some of the finest Korean cuisine. I knew nothing of Korean culture or history until I watched this series - but this series made me want to see more Korean programming, and gave me a desire to learn about Korea's history & culture, which is, by the way, very rich.
Since this series, and as a result of loving it; I've now seen probably 40 more Korean tv series. You will become addicted to Hallyu if you watch this series. It is a refreshing change from Hollywood's slick view of everything.
