Durable Elegance
I've been researching for a non-Apple smartwatch for months. Initially, I was looking at Sequent offerings. I was drawn in by the automatic energy concept and simple watch face designs. But the price wasn't right being my first purchase in the smartwatch space. So, I decided on the Withings Scan Watch instead. I've only had it for about a week but, so far, I'm thrilled with it. UI design: The simple, elegant digital interface isn't touchscreen but allows intuitive scrolling with the lone bezel on the side. Legibility: One reviewer mentioned the sapphire glass is more reflective than their advertising would lead you to believe but I haven't found it to be a hinderance. I went back and forth on what color of interface to choose finally deciding on the black. The white hands and hour indicators make reading the time as easy as I hoped for. App: The MyFitnessPal syncing to the Health Mate app was a pleasant surprise. Using the app edits my calorie expenditure on the fly. Very, very cool.
