Fixed my overcharging problem on an older Evinrude
Had an issue with running up to 17 volts as the early Evinrude Outboards don't have a regulated battery voltage. Had to shim it up a bit on the mounting so as not to pinch the wires. Unit actually has 4 wires. One if for a tach, 2 yellow, one red and one black for ground. Didn't use the tach as I'm wired differently. Never goes over 14.3 volts now. Tech support from manufacturer is good. Great product and does exactly what it is supposed to do. If you have other issues it won't fix those, only a good stator and such. Highly recommend!
