Entertaining, but varies significantly from the book
The story does not conform to the book (it even adds a character who's not in the book), but ends up conveying much of the message from the book in an entertaining way. Read the book to get the deep and important lessons it offers and don't expect the film to provide that depth.

Better than R12; An excellent, non-caustic A/C refrigerant
Two years ago I installed Enviro-Safe AC into my classic 1995 Mercedes-Benz S-500 as a recommended alternative to R12, the most common refrigerant used since the replacement of Freon. R12 is known to be very caustic to aluminum, which means it's very destructive to much of my car's tubing and to that of many other makes and models. Enviro-Safe is not only more environmentally friendly, it's not destructive to the materials in the car's A/C system. We've also replaced the R12 in our Lexus 460 and the shop that did the work is now using it for ALL the automobiles that pass through looking for A/C refreshment.
