A great album by a great band !
This cd is one of the last recordings of singer Davy Steele with two strong cuts: "The Last Trip Home" and "One More Chorus". The recording also features fine fiddle playing by John McCusker, and great piping by Mike Katz!

Contemporary celtic punch with a totally new feel !
"Afterlight" is the first album by contemporary celtic super group Imar, and it is a real strong and exciting collection of tunes. So far this group offers only high energy instrumental music - no singing at all which I found strange at first . The important thing is what they do with this format - knock it out of the ball park with often fast paced and always interesting tunes . This band is incredibly tight and their music is full of surprising twists and turns . Many of the tunes are upbeat but when a tune is down tempo it is without fail emotionally engaging . Tunes that I especially recommend for a first listen are the first tune group titled "Into the Light", and "l'Air Mignonne" - but I like the whole album honestly !

Modern celtic acoustic music on steroids !
I just discovered this group on youtube, and after sampling this cd it was an easy decision to buy it. So far this is an all instrumental group over the course of their first two albums - and they play FAST and TIGHT ! Check them out and see if you agree !
