Five years old
Can't beat the price for an Ultrastar, but I was disappointed to find a 2012 date of manufacture on the drive, suggesting that there are a lot more miles on the unit than I expected.

Great Thermostat
I replaced a disappointing Honeywell Home Wi-Fi Programmable (RTH6580WF) with this Smart Color unit, and I absolutely love it. The display looks great, you can read it from any angle and from quite a ways away, and it's as programmable as I need a thermostat to be. Another great feature is that it apparently has a humidity sensor, because it tells you what the indoor humidity is.
The only disappointing feature is that the Wi-Fi access is accomplished through a Honeywell website instead of accessing the thermostat directly. The website means you can access the thermostat from anywhere, but also means the thermostat is exposed to the web and Wi-Fi access relies on internet connectivity, which is often an issue with my rural internet.
On the other hand, the thermostat uses its Wi-Fi powers to display the current outdoor temperature and humidity, which is really cool. I'd guess any smart Wi-Fi unit will do that, but it was a surprise to me!
At the price I paid ($89), great value!!

Great value for an Ultrastar drive but...
3 of 3 found this helpful ...was disappointed to discover that this refurbished (which apparently now means "pulled out of an old PC and reformatted") drive was manufactured in 2012, five years before I purchased it.
Still, I have Seagate and WD drives in my systems that have been running without issue pretty much 24/7 for nearly a decade, and nobody beats Hitachi for performance and reliability, especially in their flagship, enterprise-class Ultrastar line, so I'm quite pleased with my purchase.
