Superb Performance on SACD
Excellent remastering for SACD of a superb performance of one of Stravinsky's greatest masterpieces, "Le Sacre du Printemps," as conducted by Pierre Boulez, one of the great, genius conductors (along with Arturo Toscanini, Guido Cantelli, and Michael Tilson Thomas) of the 20th Century. Even better, however, is Pierre Boulez's subsequent recording of the same work on the CBS/Sony label, due to the more brilliant and beautiful sounding playing of the superior Cleveland Orchestra. (And that CBS/Sony performance is also better than Boulez's last recording, again in Cleveland, for Deutsche Grammophon, fine as that is.)

Good Performance & Recording
The performance is a good one, not erratic in tempos like other Nezet-Sequin performances I've heard, and the SACD recording is excellent (albeit with the clouding of excessive reverberation seemingly inevitable when recording an organ and orchestra in the large empty spaces of a church.
