Philips HDD082/17 sucks hard!!
I am trying to repair my nephews philips HDD082 player. Ever since he had it from last Christmas it was not Id'ed by my WinXP computer using USB 2.0. Even using the Philips software, nothing. He finally got a windows ME to identify it and use it as a removeable HD. Sometimes got it to work on my brothers XP laptop but it would freeze up halfway during the sync. I told my nephew to send in the warranty card but like a complete idiot his grandma threw it away with all other xmas wrappings. Now the damn things hard drive has the "click of death". And according to this and some other forums this and some other philips HD MP3 players are trully a rip off!!! This company tries to send you another replacement and the same problems rises up! What bothers me is that ebay continues to sell this piece of crap for alot less money than originaly sold for ($249). There must be a way to notify to those auction pages to warn them of the problems they will be facing with this item and the companys lackluster support. WARNING!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MP3 PLAYER!!! BUY SOME OTHER BRAND WITHOUT ANY HARD DRIVE AND JUST STICK TO THE ONES USING FLASH DRIVES.
