Expensive yet good value.
I looked at this tripod at the national photography show in Birmingham earlier in the year. I was impressed by the quality but it was a bit more than I wanted to pay fir a travel tripod. I found it cheaper on e-bay, better than the show “offer” price.
I have a full height Gitzo that I’m fed up lugging around and this fits the bill as a lightweight sturdy travel tripod. It if fractionally shorter than I would like but there has to be a compromise to get the compact legs and light weight.
I can recommend this product. It is quite a lot of money to pay fir a travel tripod but once in your hands, the quality shines through making it good value.
The only downside is I got stung for import duty and carrier charges to collect the duty. (Another £25) so beware.
You might find it cheaper in the uk factoring in the extra cost.
It now lives in a small backpack with a small ball head and a Canon M5. Perfect combo. But I have used it with my ff body and 70-200 f2.8 and it is rock solid.

Older but a smart buy
It might now be a few years old but this is still a lovely lens. I’m not interested in it’s macro facility (although I have used it), it was the fact it has been reviewed as canons sharpest 50mm EF series lens. It is incredibly sharp. It might only be F2.5 but I shoot almost everything at infinity so this is not an issue. I shoot a lot of night stuff under bright lights and as the front element is small and a long way inside the body it generates almost no flare (as long as you don’t use a filter)
I think it is now my favourite lens.
I paid £50 + p+p for mine. Incredible lens for a decent price.
Every canon photographer should try this lens. It might not suit everyone but for me it is great.
