For the price, a decent product
I roughed up the prongs with a light sanding paper. I read that these types of metres will work to give a ph value only if the soil is combined with water and is quite moist. So, I tried with dry potting soil and soil from an area of my garden which I am pretty sure is a bit acidic. (result about 7.5) and wetted soil (result 6.5 or so which is in line with the soil specs for both). I then combined potting soil with apple cider vinegar and retested (result 5.5). THe instructions say not to try in pure water so I did not try that. I also tried with pure diluted apple cider vinegar (result about 5 which is well off the correct result)
RE moisture, I tried with dray soil and various levels of wetness. THe results seemed to be as I expected. I have not tried to test the light as my plants are all outside
In summary, while I am not sure that the readings for ph are really accurate, for me, they certainly give a good sense as to whether my soil will be o/s the acceptable range for the veggies I am growing. THe moisture scale seemed pretty good.
For the price, I'd say a good value

good value for money
well built, versatile, system updates through June 2027 b(per system comments) or June 2026 per internet search -either way acceptable length of time.
Power cord/adaptor that comes with system is overly large. There may be a more efficient power supply available but I have not confirmed..
Battery charge duration ok but if that is a major consideration then there are better alternatives available.
I do not use this for game playing or for major number crunching but the OS is not really optimized for that and I did not purchase to do these things. Great for zoom's, streaming, podcasts etc.
I have two and, overall, am very pleased
