Not what you would expect for a show car prop
So the body is made of polished aluminum with a stainless center rod. This is where the good stops. The hardware is yellow cadmium plated. So you figure, I'll swap it out with polished stainless or something else so it looks consistent! Not.. The ball socket end that is threaded on the stainless rod has an 8mm ball with a 1/4-28 threaded end. The other end of the prop assembly has a fixed bracket, also yellow cadimum plated. So if you want to change out the hardware to say polished stainless, good luck. First off imperial sizing in this stuff is non-existent so your going to have to cut off the end and turn down the stainless rod to accept a 6 or 8mm threaded ball socket end. Then you have the other end, the aluminum sleeve. It is obviously hollow for the rod to slide within and the inside diameter is too large to accept standard available ball ends.. A threaded bushing will have to be made to adapt anything. So why would Lokar make a show car piece out of polished aluminum and stainless and then put non-standard yellow cadmium hardware on it? Cheap Chinese hardware, that is why. Save your money and keep looking for an alternative. At nearly $80 a disappointing purchase.
