Adequate for replacement, but not great
This is much lighter weight than the bar (which bent from an accident) on our old towel rack, and the width is just barely over 1/2”, definitely less than ⅝”, so this rattles around in the ¾” holes in our brackets. But I think this will do OK, of just adequate quality, for holding our towels.

Good floss
I am particular about my floss, and find this really good—it’s a bit more elastic than ideal, but fits in well between teeth, and is lightly ribbed, providing some friction for cleaning.

So far, so good
Online reviews are not a statistical sampling. I’ve seen a lot of concerns on this product, but after a few days with it, I’m happy enough.
My two biggest concerns are: 1) will this alert us if CO levels are elevated in the house? From the material packed with this, it sure seems as though First Alert has done its homework.
2) When the two AA batteries backing this up are dying, will this wake us up at 3 AM, as so many of our fire alarms do? From the instructions, it looks like if—oh, heck, when—that happens, the Silence button will shut up the device for 8 hours. And with the readout screen, we’ll be able to tell that this is the device annoying us, rather than one of the others.
It’s supposed to last 7 years. Some reviews indicate these don’t always last that long. I’m willing to take the risk—apparently, and end-of-life for the sensor will also generate a chirp and a notice on the LED.
