Fantasy Life is a Fantastic RPG
This is a very good game, especially considering it's for such a small platform. It's basically a CRPG where you can pick from one of 12 jobs to do in a fantasy setting. While doing that job, you get bonuses for doing that job but you're free to change jobs whenever you wish. For example, a person with the Miner job gets more ore from mining. However, you can change jobs, and still mine things, but you get a normal amount of ore while doing another job. Of course, you have to be a Miner at some point in order to mine ore at all since jobs are how you gain skills.
You can also advance in each job to give you additional abilities related to that skill. There's also a character level system which allows you to gain attribute points per level to place where you want. You get two per character level, which you can assign to things like Strength, Health, and so on. As you advance in your job, you also gain attribute points in two of the attributes that job is focused on.
The game provides a very compelling illusion of freedom, though there is a story you can do as well.
